Dear Dawn and Family: It's hard to understand why people are taken from us, but we know you'll find comfort in knowing she was a special part of such a well-lived life. And when the Lord calls our loved ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange. The memories we all have of our darling Betty are precious. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. We are so sorry and will truly miss her. Love, Marion and Ray Elden

Aunt Betty: When I called her on the telephone, I used to say, “Hi, Aunt Betty – it’s Carolee!” If she did not recognize who was calling her, she immediately, became upset. So, I always started our conversations with “Hi Aunt Betty - It’s Carolee.” I still hear her, “Well, Hi Ya Honey!” Wow, what can any one of us say? I’m positive we all have our special endearments we can remember and share. To me, she was one of the bravest persons I knew. She took such good care of Uncle Phil and her devotion to Bruce was ‘second to none.’ She lived all alone, and yet was never alone. She felt safe in Hunter’s Creek as she began a new life without her husband. She managed to build a life and a network of friends and family. We all came to Florida and stayed with her. Her joy was to show every guest something exciting about Orlando. She would always pick a place or event specifically for that person. Her passion was reading. Her heart was her family. She was blessed with two wonderful daughters who will miss her dearly. When Aunt Betty became ill three months ago, I believe with all of my heart, her time on this earth was over then. God in His infinitely mercy granted her a little more time to be with her daughters and let them have the most precious moments, her last. Thank you Dawn and Joan. You are an example for all of us to follow. Our prayers and love go out to you in this sad time. Carolee
