Margaret Ashdown - age: 80
(October 11, 1928 to September 24, 2009 ) Resident of Wall, New Jersey Obituary: Margaret Ashdown, age 80 of Allenwood passed away Thursday September 24 at Geraldine Thompson Monmouth County Care Center, Allenwood. Margaret was a lifelong resident of the shore area. She was born in Spring Lake and lived in Spring Lake Heights for over 65 years and also resided in Neptune and then Jackson before moving to Allenwood in 2007. Margaret was a nurse’s aide for over 20 years at the Spring Lake Heights Rest Home and the Arbors both of Spring Lake Heights. She also worked at the 7-11 in Spring Lake Heights. Margaret enjoyed playing Nintendo video games, watching tennis and her trips to Atlantic City and Monmouth Race Track. Margaret was predeceased by her brother William Aitchison. She is survived by a son Fred Ashdown of Texas, three daughters, Elizabeth A. Gahan of Belmar, Janet C. Wynne of Longview Texas and Sharon Ashdown of Lakewood. Margaret is also survived a brother David Aitchison of Bradley Beach; 7 grandchildren, Kristin Sims and her husband John, Jared Ashdown, Felicia Ashdown, Michael Ashdown, Rachael Goswick, Jarrett Wynne and Kevin Petruzello; 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, from 3-6 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Sunday 6 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl 17, Chicago, Ill 60601-7633.
