Obituary:
Richard D. Anderson, 90 of Brielle passed away Friday December 24 at home. He was born in York, PA. and lived most of his life in Elizabeth. Richard and his wife Doris lived in Bay Head for 15 years before moving to Brielle 15 years ago. He received a BS degree from Rutgers University. Richard was a senior contract analyst for Exxon Research & Engineering, Linden for 40 years. Upon his retirement he worked for the State of New Jersey Taxation Division. Richard was a past president of Elizabeth Town Country Club, Board of Directors of Salvation Army, Elizabeth, Wall-Spring Lake F&AM Lodge #73 and a member of Rutgers Alumni Association. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed socializing with family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife of 69 years, Doris (nee Daly) Anderson of Brielle; a son Richard Anderson of Brielle. He is also survived by two grandchildren Jill Riescher and Scott Anderson; six great grandchildren Finley, Kyle, Colin, Brooke, Riley and Gavin; numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited call Monday January 3 from 3-7 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Monday evening at 6:30 pm. My uncle Dick was a great guy. He always took care of me.He was as sharp as a tac up till the time he died.We should all be as lucky. My condolences to my Aunt Doris and my Cousin Don and his family.
