Obituary:
Rita Gozza Buffington, 78 of Manasquan (Four Seasons of Wall) passed away Thursday July 14 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune with her family by her side. Rita was born and raised in Newburgh, NY. She graduated for Newburgh Free Academy. Rita was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church as well as a soloist for the church. She married James Buffington on June 6, 1954. They lived in Germany for three years before moving back to north New Jersey. Rita and her family moved to the shore area in 1979 and then to Four Seasons in 1997. Rita was a partner in a Haagen Dazs Ice Cream Store in Red Bank, NJ from 1981 until her retirement in 1994. She was an avid tennis player and loved baking and cooking for everyone and anyone.

Rita was predeceased by her son William Buffington in 1988. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Buffington of Manasquan; a son and his wife Jeffrey and Ann of Kona, Hawaii; two daughters and their husbands Diane and Glenn Muller of West Fulton, NY and Lynne and Terrance Gould of Wall, NJ; four grandchildren Jared, Troy, Austin and Caitlin. Rita is also survived by one brother John Gozza and two sisters Dolores Quick and Theresa Swanson all of Newburgh, NY.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday July 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A funeral prayer service will be conducted here at the funeral home on Thursday July 21 at 3:30 pm. Interment will be private at Brig Gen William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. To mr.
