Obituary:
Carmen L Allen, 80, of Brick, passed away at Lankenau Hospital, Philadelphia, PA on Saturday November 5. Carmen was born in New York City and raised in Newark, NJ. She graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel, Newark, NJ. Carmen moved to Spring Lake Heights in 1959 and then to Brick in 1991. She was the Office Administrator for Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery, Tinton Falls for almost 50 years. Carmen loved to knit and needlepoint and could always be found many Saturdays at her dear friend, Lolly Griffith’s shop called the “Yarn Shop” in Manasquan. Carmen deeply loved her family and was extremely proud of all her grandchildren and their many accomplishments.

Carmen was predeceased by her husband Jack Allen in 2008. She is survived by her children, Kathy and Bob Freeman of Wall, John and Cathy Allen of East Brunswick and Ronald and Patricia Allen of Freehold Twp. Carmen is also survived by her grandchildren, Meredith, Lindsay, Kevin, Jake, Christopher, Ryan and Michael; 4 step grandchildren Jessica and Tim Brace, Justin and Suzanne Freeman, Dan Freeman and Chelsea Freeman.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736, Wednesday November 9 from 1-6 pm and Thursday November 10 form 5-9 pm. A graveside service will be at 11 am Saturday November 12 at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. Carmen’s family will have a Celebration of Life Service, 11 am on January 21 at St. Mary’s By The Sea Episcopal Church, Bay Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. My Dear Friend Kathy - Your Mom will be remembered for her strength, her beautiful soul and the endless love she had for everyone who had the fortune to know her. I will never forget the tears of pride and joy she shed for Kevin & Jake at each milestone in their lives. She was and will continue to be a tremendous source of strength to them. I know how much you already miss her and my heart goes out to you. Carmen brought so many gifts to life...she will never be forgotten.
