Obituary:
Hazel D. Buhler, 94 of Manasquan passed away Tuesday November 29 at her home with her family by her side. Hazel was born in Perth Amboy and was a lifelong resident of the shore area residing in Belmar and Manasquan. Hazel wintered in West Palm Beach for 30 years. She was the secretary for the Wall Board of Education and was the bookkeeper for north and south pavilion of Spring Lake in the summertime for 27 years. Hazel enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She also took great pride in caring for a rose garden that has been in her family for over 70 years. Hazel’s family said that she was blessed to be sharp as a tack until recently.

Hazel was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Paul Buhler in 1996, her parents Arthur and Ethel Holmes, a brother Arthur, Jr. and two sisters Jean and Ethel. She is survived by two daughters Nancy B Newman of Manasquan and Dr. Dolores “Dodi” Buhler-Ballard of Brielle and West Palm Beach. Hazel is also survived by 4 grandchildren Kelly Long and her husband Jim, Wendy Newman, Douglas Ballard and Allison Ballard; a great granddaughter Haley Long; and a half-sister Cecilia Jones and her husband Bob of Hamilton, NJ and nephew Donald TAylor.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday December 4 from 1-5 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am Monday December 5 at St. Denis Church, Manasquan. Entombment will follow at St. Catharine’s Mausoleum, Sea Girt. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association 2550 US Hwy 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902 or VNA Hospice of Central Jersey, 176 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
