at 3 pm here at the funeral home
Interment will be private

Obituary:
Sharon L. Cartwright, 78 of Lakewood passed away Tuesday February 16 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick with her family by her side. Sharon was born and raised in Long Branch. Sharon and her family moved to Brick in 1961 and lived there until 10 years ago when she and her husband moved to Lakewood. She was a merchandise buyer for Lane Drugs for 25 years. Sharon was very involved with New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Club and past state chairman from 2006 until 2008. She was also past chairman EMD/Women’s Club, past president of Brick Township Women’s Club, past member of Brick Township Junior Sports League, past Cub Scout Den Mother of Troop 47, Herbertsville. Sharon was also a reader at Brick Township Primary Learning Center, and volunteered at Leisure Village Association Health Center.

Sharon was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Donald Cartwright in July, 2009. She is survived by four sons, Edward Cartwright and his wife Kathryn of Point Pleasant, Donald Cartwright of Brick, Peter Cartwright of Forestville, CA and Joseph Cartwright of Sacramento, CA; and one daughter Betty Ann Dowd and her husband Mike of Brick. Sharon is also survived by nine grandchildren Christine, Laura, John, Samuel, Ryan, William, Michael, Hunter and Sally; a sister Valerie Baker Brown and her husband Hiram of Rockport, Maine.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday February 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday 3 pm here at the funeral home. Interment will be private. I worked with Sharon during her time with Lane Drugs. She was a delight to be with. Essentially a no-nonsense person when it came to her work. It is good to see how active she was outside of work. She and her family will be in my prayers tonight. God Bless You Sharon
